Grieg Lodge Library
Rare Norwegian Books & Cultural Resources
Grieg Lodge | Explore Norwegian Literature & Culture in Portland, OR
The Library is considered Norse Hall’s most beautiful room and contributes significantly to Portland’s diverse cultural heritage. It features a unique and extensive collection of fiction, nonfiction, reference works, DVDs, and CDs in Norwegian and English dating from the early 1800s to the present day. Indeed, our collection of close to 4,000 books and other works ranks among the most comprehensive of its kind in our region. Books may be browsed by guests on-site, but only lodge members may check them out. Select the LibraryWorld.com link to search the Library catalog.
Regular Library activities include a Book Discussion Group and a Norwegian Conversation Group. As well as being open during most major lodge events, the Library is open one day a week and appointments are encouraged. Contact our Librarian at grieglodge.librarian@gmail.com for more information, and please note that the Library is closed during July and August.
